Porto & Gaia
Across the river from each other and often used interchangeably, Gaia and Porto look like one town but the locals will beg to differ.
Porto is very extensive and some locations can be very far from the historic centre but if you stay in Porto, the main attractions of the city are within easy reach.

Livraria Lello
Rumor has it that JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books was inspired by this beautiful bookstore. True or not, this bookstore is beautiful and worth the long lines.

Torre dos Clérigos
The Clérigos Church is a Baroque church in the city of Porto. It’s 75-meter-tall bell tower can be seen from various points of the city and is one of its most characteristic symbols.
With 240 steps to make it to the top, if you are afraid of heights (like one of us) it is best to hang out in the church or giftshop. The views from the top are absolutely stunning.

Tuk Tuk Tour
If you are short in time, or are content with some drive by photo ops, the Tuk Tuk tour was a fun experience.
Tours start all around the Clerigos tower and are offered in various time increments. Prices start at € 15 pp. We payed about €50 for an hour tour.
